On June 11, 2009, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP and Chemical Watch will present a timely, in-depth update and analysis of the critical chemicals management regulatory programs and issues confronting companies in the United States. This program will focus in particular on two of the most important of the current chemicals management initiatives: REACH and the emerging proposals for TSCA reform.

We will present a series of lectures and panel discussions by leading legal, regulatory, government, NGO and industry specialists. In addition to analyzing REACH and TSCA reform issues and developments, the panelists will also provide insights on the role of chemicals management issues in product stewardship, including product development and product defense.

		Updates from the EU - Presentations by ECHA and leading legal and technical REACH practitioners addressing developments post pre-registration, including with respect to SVHCs, enforcement, SIEFs/consortia, and only representatives.
		Perspectives from the U.S. - Legal, technical and government presentations on current and future impacts of REACH on U.S. businesses, including with respect to critical new interpretations affecting non-EU operations (e.g., re-importation), plus supply chain and trade considerations.
	Chemicals Management Issues
		TSCA Reform - A cross section of stakeholders will discuss the progress of ChAMP, the case for TSCA reform, and emerging legislative activities and proposals (e.g. the Kid-Safe Chemicals Act).
		Global Chemicals Management - An interactive discussion on how companies are organizing to meet the challenge of global chemical management initiatives, how such initiatives are impacting product development and marketing strategies, and the steps companies should take to defend products.
